How should I sort my recycling?
Sorting your waste correctly helps make sure recyclable materials can be processed properly and keeps the refuse area clean and tidy.
At The Store House, residents should separate recycling from general waste and use the appropriate bins provided in the refuse area.
How should I sort my waste?
When disposing of your rubbish:
- Separate recyclable items from general waste before taking your rubbish to the bin store.
- Place recyclable items in the mixed dry recycling bins.
- Put items that cannot be recycled through the building's recycling service in the general waste bins.
- Make sure recyclable containers are empty and clean where possible.
- Flatten larger cardboard boxes before putting them in the recycling bins. This helps save space and prevents the bins from becoming unnecessarily full.
What can I put in the recycling?
The mixed recycling bins can be used for items such as cardboard, paper, plastic containers and bottles, and aluminium cans.
If you're unsure which bin an item belongs in, check the signage in the refuse area or ask the Resident Team for guidance.
Helpful tip
Break down large cardboard boxes before recycling them rather than placing them in the bin whole. It makes much better use of the available space.
