Are there restrictions on certain appliances or items for safety reasons?

Yes — for safety and compliance reasons, Enclave restricts the use of certain appliances and items in apartments. These rules are in place to reduce fire risk, protect the building’s infrastructure, and ensure resident safety.

  • Portable heaters
  • Candles and open flames
  • Deep fat fryers:
  • Incense burners
  • BBQs or grills:
  • Large electrical appliances: Installing extra appliances like washing machines, tumble dryers, or freezers without approval is not usually allowed.

•

  • E-scooters and e-bikes
  • Hoverboards
  • Portable fridges
  • Fairy lights and LED strip lights
  • Some cooking appliances

Full details are available within the resident handbook.

Why restrictions exist

  • To maintain compliance with building fire safety regulations.
  • To ensure electrical systems aren’t overloaded.
  • To protect residents and prevent damage to property.

Helpful tip

If you’re unsure whether an item or appliance is permitted, check your tenancy agreement or ask the on-site team before bringing it into your apartment.
