Are candles allowed?

No. Candles, incense, wax burners, oil burners and other items with an open flame are not permitted at The Store House.

This is an important fire safety requirement designed to help protect residents, staff and the building.

What items aren't allowed?

For fire safety reasons, you must not use or keep items that involve an open flame, including:

  • Candles
  • Incense sticks or cones
  • Wax burners
  • Oil burners
  • Other items that use an open flame

This applies even if you're using them for decoration, fragrance or relaxation.

Why aren't candles allowed?

An unattended or accidentally knocked-over flame can create a significant fire risk, particularly within residential accommodation. For this reason, open-flame items aren't permitted.

If you'd like to make your apartment feel more homely, consider using flame-free alternatives, such as battery-operated LED candles or electric fragrance products that comply with the building's safety requirements.

Helpful tip

If you're unsure whether a particular item is permitted in your apartment, check with the Resident Team before using it.
