Is there a checklist I should follow?
Moving out of The Store House is much easier if you give yourself plenty of time to get organised. Before you leave, make sure you've removed your belongings, cleaned your accommodation and completed the necessary move-out steps.
Here's a simple checklist to help you get started.
Before you leave
- Remove all your belongings
Check your bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and any storage areas carefully and make sure you've taken everything with you.
Don't forget to check less obvious places such as drawers, cupboards and under your bed.
- Empty cupboards and storage areas
Make sure all cupboards, drawers, wardrobes and other storage spaces are completely empty before you leave.
- Dispose of your rubbish
Take all household waste and recycling to the appropriate bins in the basement-level bin store.
Don't leave rubbish in your apartment or communal areas when you move out.
- Clean your accommodation
Clean your bedroom, bathroom and kitchen areas before leaving.
Make sure surfaces, floors, appliances and other areas are left clean and tidy in accordance with the requirements of your tenancy.
- Return your key card
Return your key card as instructed as part of the move-out process. If you're unsure where or when to return it, speak to the Resident Team.
- Update your address
Remember to update your address with important organisations, such as your bank, university, employer and any other services that need your current contact details.
- Arrange mail redirection
If you're expecting post after you've moved out, consider arranging mail redirection so important letters and documents reach you at your new address.
What if I'm unsure about anything?
If you have questions about your move-out date, cleaning requirements, returning your key card or any other part of the process, speak to the Resident Team. They'll be happy to guide you through what you need to do.
Helpful tip
Don't leave everything until the day you move out. Working through the checklist in advance gives you time to deal with anything you've forgotten and helps make your move-out as straightforward as possible.
