Can I hold doors open for others?
For security reasons, you should avoid holding doors open for people you don’t know at Enclave. This helps prevent unauthorised access to the building.
Guidelines
-
For residents and guests: It’s fine to hold the door for someone you know, such as a neighbour or your guest.
-
For strangers: Politely avoid letting in people you don’t recognise. They should use their own fob, key, or call the resident they’re visiting.
-
Delivery drivers and contractors: These should be admitted either by the resident expecting them or the Resident Team.
Why it matters
-
Tailgating (when someone follows you in without authorisation) is a common security risk in residential buildings.
-
By only letting in people you know, you’re helping keep the community safe.
Helpful tip
If you ever feel uncomfortable refusing entry, direct the person to the reception or intercom system.
