Should I report neighbour disputes to the team?
If you've tried resolving an issue with a neighbour with no success, you may report it to the Resident Team.
Why reporting helps
-
Mediation: The team can act as a neutral third party to help resolve disagreements calmly.
-
Rule enforcement: If the issue involves noise, smoking, pets, or other building rules, the team can remind residents of their responsibilities.
-
Record keeping: Reporting creates an official record in case the situation escalates or requires further action later.
When to escalate
-
If polite conversation hasn’t resolved the problem.
-
If the issue is ongoing, serious, or affects your comfort and wellbeing (e.g. repeated late-night noise or antisocial behaviour).
-
If you feel unsafe approaching your neighbour directly.
Important safety note
If you feel unsafe, threatened, or believe there is an immediate risk to people or property, you should contact the appropriate authorities.
- Emergency situations: Call 999
- Non‑emergency police matters: Call 101
Helpful tip
Keep notes of what’s been happening (dates, times, and details). This makes it easier for the team to understand the problem and take the right steps.
