What information do I need to provide when applying?

When applying for a property at Enclave, you’ll be asked to provide details and documents that help confirm your identity, financial stability, and suitability as a tenant. Having these ready in advance can speed up the process and make your application smoother.

Personal information

  • Proof of ID: A valid passport, driving licence, or other government-issued ID.

  • Contact details: Your current address, phone number, and email.

  • Right to Rent check: If you’re renting in the UK, you’ll need to provide documents showing your legal right to rent (such as a passport with visa, or share code if applicable).

Financial information

  • Proof of income: Recent payslips, an employment contract, or bank statements to show you can afford the rent.

  • Employment details: Your employer’s name and contact information, so references can be verified.

  • Alternative arrangements: If you’re self-employed, moving from abroad, or don’t meet the standard criteria, you may be asked for additional proof of funds, a guarantor, or rent in advance.

References

  • Previous landlord reference: Confirmation of your rental history and that payments were made on time.

Payment

  • Holding fee: Paid when you reserve the property. This takes the home off the market while your application is processed.

Helpful tip

If you’re unsure about what applies to your circumstances — for example, if you’re moving internationally or are self-employed — the local enquiries team can clarify exactly what documents you’ll need before you apply.
