What should I do before I move out?
Preparing properly before moving out of your Enclave home helps ensure a smooth handover and protects your deposit.
Key steps
- Give notice: Make sure you’ve submitted written notice in line with your tenancy agreement.
- Review your tenancy agreement: Check for any specific move-out requirements, such as cleaning standards or key returns.
- Clean thoroughly: Your home should be left in a clean and tidy condition. Pay attention to kitchens, bathrooms, and flooring.
- Repair and restore: Fix any minor damage (like filling small nail holes) and return the property to its original condition if you made changes.
- Remove belongings: Clear all personal items, rubbish, and food from cupboards, fridges, and freezers.
- Utilities and services: Take final meter readings if applicable and cancel or transfer any utility or broadband accounts.
Helpful tip
Think of your move-out prep as reversing your move-in — leave your home as you found it, and you’ll minimise the risk of deductions from your deposit.
