What should I do if an emergency happens outside of office hours?

If an emergency occurs outside of Enclave’s normal office hours, you should use the out-of-hours emergency contact number provided in your welcome pack. This ensures urgent problems are dealt with immediately, even when the on-site team isn’t available.

Steps to take

  1. Stay safe: If there’s immediate danger (such as fire or gas leak), call the emergency services first (999 for fire, police, or ambulance; 0800 111 999 for gas).

  2. Call the out-of-hours number: Report the issue directly so an emergency contractor can be sent.

  3. Contain the problem if safe: For example, turn off water at the stopcock during a leak or switch off electricity at the fuse box if there’s an electrical hazard.

  4. Wait for assistance: A contractor or engineer will attend to make the situation safe as quickly as possible.

Helpful tip

Keep your out-of-hours number somewhere accessible — like saved in your phone — so you’re not searching for it during an emergency.
