What types of noise are considered unacceptable?

At Enclave, everyday living sounds are expected, but excessive or disruptive noise that affects other residents’ comfort is considered unacceptable.

Examples of unacceptable noise

  • Loud music or TV: Especially if played late at night or with heavy bass that carries through walls.

  • Parties or gatherings: Noise from groups of people, particularly during quiet hours (10:00 pm – 7:00 am).

  • Shouting or raised voices: Persistent loud conversations indoors or on balconies.

  • Repeated disturbances: Frequent banging, stomping, or moving furniture late at night.

  • Appliance misuse: Running loud appliances like washing machines or vacuum cleaners during quiet hours.

Why it matters

  • Excessive noise disrupts neighbours’ ability to relax and sleep.

  • It breaches building rules designed to ensure a respectful community.

  • Persistent noise may be treated as anti-social behaviour and lead to formal action.

Helpful tip

If you’re unsure how loud your music or TV is, step into the corridor — if you can hear it clearly, chances are your neighbours can too.
