Can I apply with a friend, partner or group?
Yes — you can apply with others if you’d like to share a home at Enclave. Many residents move in with a partner, friend, or small group, and the application process can easily accommodate this.
Applying as joint tenants
- Shared tenancy: Everyone who will be living in the property is usually named on the tenancy agreement. This means you all share equal responsibility for the rent and the property.
- Individual checks: Each applicant will need to complete their own referencing process, providing proof of ID, income, and references.
- Combined affordability: The team will look at your combined household income to ensure the rent is manageable between you.
Applying as a couple
- Both partners are typically listed as tenants.
- You’ll each need to provide documents, but the affordability check can be assessed jointly.
- This arrangement gives both partners equal rights and responsibilities under the tenancy.
Applying as a group
- The size of your group will need to match the property type (for example, a two-bedroom apartment for two sharers).
- Everyone will need to apply, provide references, and pass checks.
- Rent is shared, but all named tenants are jointly responsible for ensuring payments are made.
Things to consider
- Holding fee: Paid when you reserve the property.
- Flexibility: If one applicant has a different financial situation (for example, self-employed or international), the team can advise on alternatives such as a guarantor or advance rent.
If you’re planning to apply with others, it’s a good idea to let the local enquiries team know upfront so they can guide you through the process and ensure everything is set up correctly.
