Can I hang pictures or put up shelves?
You can usually hang pictures in your Enclave home, but putting up shelves or making more permanent alterations is subject to restrictions.
Hanging pictures
-
Small picture hooks or adhesive strips are generally acceptable, provided they don’t cause significant damage.
-
You may be asked to fill holes and restore walls at the end of your tenancy if nails or screws are used.
-
Using non-damaging methods (like removable adhesive hooks) is often the safest option.
Putting up shelves
-
Installing shelves usually counts as an alteration to the property. This normally requires written permission from the landlord or management team before you proceed.
-
If approved, you’ll be responsible for removing the shelves and restoring the walls before moving out.
Helpful tip
Always check your tenancy agreement or ask the on-site team before making changes. Even small alterations can affect your deposit if they’re not agreed in advance. To make a request please refer to the resident handbook for details.
