How do I operate the hot water system?

Hot water systems in Enclave apartments are designed to be straightforward and reliable. The exact setup may vary by development, but most homes use either a central hot water system or an electric immersion heater with a timer.

Common types of systems

  • Central hot water supply: Hot water is provided automatically, and you won’t usually need to adjust anything. Temperature and supply are managed centrally by the building.

  • Immersion heater/boiler: Some apartments have their own hot water tank, with a control panel or switch to set heating times. This allows you to heat water on demand or schedule it for when you need it most.

How to use your hot water system

  1. Check your controls: Look for a wall panel, switch, or timer near the tank or in the utility cupboard.

  2. Set a timer (if available): Heating water for a couple of hours in the morning and evening is often enough.

  3. Boost function: Many systems have a “boost” button to quickly heat water if you need extra outside your normal schedule.

  4. Mixer taps: Use taps as normal — hot water should flow once the system is active.

Helpful tip

For apartments with centralised hot water, you may never need to adjust anything. If you’re unsure which system your home has, ask the on-site team during move-in. They can walk you through the controls and settings.
