How do I recycle batteries, electronics, and hazardous items?

At Enclave, batteries, electronics, and hazardous items cannot be placed in normal household or recycling bins. They require special disposal to ensure safety and environmental compliance.

Batteries

  • Some Enclave buildings provide a battery recycling point in the bin store or reception area.

  • If not, use local supermarket collection points or council recycling facilities.

Electronics (WEEE items)

  • Small electricals (like kettles, toasters, or hairdryers) must go to a dedicated electronic waste recycling site.

  • Larger appliances (fridges, washing machines, etc.) may require a council collection service.

Hazardous items

  • Items like paint, chemicals, or fluorescent bulbs must be taken to your local household waste and recycling centre.

  • Never place them in general waste or communal bins.
