What should I do if my neighbour is being noisy?

If you’re disturbed by noise from a neighbour in your Enclave building, there are steps you can take to resolve the situation calmly and effectively.

First steps

  • Stay calm: Remember that occasional noise is normal in shared buildings.

  • Speak directly (if comfortable): A polite, friendly conversation often resolves things quickly. Many neighbours aren’t aware their noise is carrying.

If the noise continues

  • Check quiet hours: If the disturbance happens during quiet hours (usually 10:00 pm – 7:00 am), it’s a breach of building rules.

  • Contact the on-site team: Report the issue to the management team or through the resident portal. They can address it formally and remind residents of noise policies.

  • Keep records: Note the times and type of noise, especially if it’s persistent. This helps the team manage the issue fairly.

Escalation

In rare cases where noise becomes severe or anti-social, the matter may be escalated under tenancy or building policies, and local authorities can become involved if necessary.
