When will I get my deposit back after moving out?
At Enclave, your tenancy deposit will be returned once your tenancy ends and the final checks have been completed.
Standard timeline
-
After you move out, the property is inspected against the inventory and tenancy agreement.
-
If there are no deductions, your deposit is usually returned within 10–14 days of the final inspection.
-
The deposit is released through the government-approved deposit protection scheme, which manages the process securely.
If there are deductions
-
You’ll be notified of any proposed deductions (for damage, cleaning, or unpaid rent).
-
If you agree, the balance will be returned after the deduction is applied.
-
If you don’t agree, the deposit protection scheme provides a dispute resolution service to review the case independently.
Helpful tip
To help ensure a smooth return, make sure your home is cleaned to the required standard, all keys/fobs are returned, and any agreed restoration (like filling holes from picture hooks) is completed before moving out.
